STARK TERROR
Josh Brolin Signs up for Sin City 2

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For has added another big name to its ever-growing roster, with Josh Brolin signing on to play the key role of Dwight.

You might remember Dwight from the first outing, as the crusading warrior who helped a gang of tooled-up prostitutes fight off a set of brutal mercenaries. However, he looked a bit different then, as Clive Owen was playing him.

However, this shift in appearance will all be explained by the second film, as explained by the press release that announced the casting.

“Dwight is one of the favourite characters from Miller’s books and the 2005 film. In Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, Dwight is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord, and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to The Big Fat Kill and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face.”

Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller also released a joint statement, explaining that, “Dwight is a constant character throughout the Sin City world and A Dame To Kill For is a defining episode in his life. We’re looking forward to Josh’s take on Dwight.”

Co-starring Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For will open in the US on 4 October 2013.

The Fire, baby. It’ll burn us both. It’ll kill us both. There’s no place in this world for our kind of fire. My warrior woman. My Valkyrie. You’ll always be mine. Always… and never.

Daredevil reborn

Pretty exciting news: check out the article below from Empireonline.com

Fox has been quietly developing a newDaredevil film for a couple of years now. 30 Days Of Night and Twilight: Eclipse director David Slade has been attached since last spring, and there have been screenplays by David Scarpa (The Day The Earth Stood Still) and Brad Caleb Kane (Brooklyn’s Finest). Now though, there’s word of yet another draft, this time by David James Kelly.

The plan is still to adapt the Frank Miller saga Born Again, first published in Daredevil issues 227-233, in 1986. The story sees Matt Murdock outed as Daredevil by former secretary Karen Page. She has, shall we say, fallen on hard times since leaving the Nelson & Murdock law firm, and sells the info for a shot of heroin. It eventually reaches crime boss The Kingpin, who proceeds to creatively dismantle Murdock’s life and send supervillain Nuke into Murdock’s stomping ground of New York’s Hell’s Kitchen.
